Seminar for Class 9 and 10

One Day Seminar on Personality Development for Classes 9 and 10 under the REAP (Rajagiri Educational Achievement Programme), Rajagiri CASP under the leadership of Fr. Prasanth CMI (HOD, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences), Mr. Bently, Training Officer and Mr. Rajeev, Training Co-ordinator, CASP.

Reopening of School 2008-09

The new academic year 2008-2009 started on 2nd June 2008 with a spectacular reopeneing day ceremony and a proudful moment of launching the ICSE syllabus. With a sparkling ray of hope a number of students stepped into Rajagiri family. The guest of jhonour was our nre Provincial and Manager Rev. Dr. Antony Kariyil CMI. A spiritual atmosphere was created by our school choir.
Our Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Jos Alukkal CMI welcomed the gathering with this usual encouraging tone. He saught the support of parents for the successful conduct of all the activities of the school. Next a visula display regarding the activities of the pervious year was done. The official opening ceremony started just after this with an openeing prayer followed by lighting the lamp. The new members of the staff and students lighted the lamp with our motto "Light and Life" in mind. Readings from the Holy Koran, the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita were included.
Rev. Dr. Anotony Kariyil talked about the importance of education. Offertory was done by Renjith Sunny and Arun Ravindran of Std. XII and Lakshmi Prathap of Std. X
The ceremony came to an end with the concluding prayer.

Environment Day 2008

Since hartal swept the Environmental Day celebrations on June 5th, we were compellered to postpone the programme to June 6th 2008.   The theme put forward by the UNEP for this year was "Kick the habit; towards a low carbon economy". The school Environmental day celebrations began with a rally which was flagged off by our Principal, Rev. Fr. Varghese Manickanamparambil CMI at 10:30 a. m.     With elevated spirit and high energy, the students from class V to XII raised slogans to create an awareness among the public to reduce CO2 emission to the atmosphere.   The rally led by our Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Jos Alukkal and other members of the staff went upto Premier Junction and reached the school campus by 11: 30 a. m.     Thereafter refreshments were provided to all the students. Placards were prepared by the students to convey the message effectively to the public.
In the afternoon session, a seminar was conducted by Dr. Unnikrishnan, who is the director of Environmental Studies Centre in Union Christian College, Aluva. A multimedia presentation was presented before the audience, which showed the hazards of global warming and other environmental pollutions.   In fact, this seminar helped in creating an awareness in us regarding the importance of protecting our environment, thereby saving our mother earth for the coming generations.
After the seminar, winners of the placard competition were declared. Sarath A Bruno and Akash A of VII   A shared the prize in the UP section. Athul Jose of IX B and Sreeganesh of XA were the high school section winners.
A quiz was also conducted as a part of the Environment Day celebrations. Abeeth S came first in the UP section and in the high school section, Harvey S and Antony Roy became the first and second respectively.   Principal handed over the prizes to the winners

The class wise PTA meeting of the L.P. Section (Class 1 to 4) will be held at 2.00 p.m. in the school auditorium followed by the General Body Meeting at 3.00 p.m.

Inauguration of LCA, KCSL and various other clubs

Inauguration of Literary and Cultural Academy, Kerala Catholic Students League and various clubs of the school was conducted on 25th July 2008, Friday at 9. a.m in the School auditorium. The chief guests of the day were Adv. Reju Joseph, playback Singer, Rev. Fr. Tony Kottakal, Director, KCSL, Ernakulam Diocese and Rev. Dr. Cherian Kunianthodath, Secretary of Education, S. H. Province.During the ceremony, investiture of School Leaders were also conducted.
